Great track, I dig the chillstep aesthetic, the bitcrushed melody. and the surprise the outro. It sounds like it functions as a transition to the next track, but I think it's fantastic regardless. The only bit with which my ears aren't completely on board is the occasional bass buzz (that super high pass filtered bass synth). Adding a low pass filter to round out those highs will help blend that track with the overall mix. There's a sweet spot in the LPF frequency, where that bass sound can still cut through, but not sound too buzzy. If you find you're missing high-frequency content, you could boost the hats to compensate. Just spitballing ideas here. Great work.

I wasn't even thinking about Zelda when I made this lol. I made a song called "Forest Temple" a while back. And I was like, "lemme just continue the temple thing". But, it's a funny thing to think about.

Heyyy dude, this is a fun track, and a great exercise in self-limitation. I like the ring mod sound of the melody. My ears are searching for more short-term variation and high-frequency content, something like a second hats pattern or high-pitched arpeggiator. Perhaps a more agressive bass eventually to match the power of the drums. I feel the track wants to go somewhere further.

I think you're right. It was a big limb to go out on and a lot of fun. Thanks!

worst/10 also it starts in G minor you hack fraud

Solaraloe responds:

i rember now :))) thank you!!!

Heck yeah, great instrumental. I think the bass could be compressed just a bit more to even out the different perceived volumes between different pitches, maybe even lowered a bit overall in volume, and the drums can definitely be bumped up in volume. I thought about the guitars being more present in the sizzle range of 10kHz, but the drum boost would probably satisfy my sizzle needs. Great work

This is amazing, super immersive and expressive from beginning to end.

So good! Vibe is spot-on and quite emotional. Your intention cuts through so well.. If I were to nitpick about stylistic choices, I would add just a few ghost notes to the drums to add subtle variation. I would also focus on transitionary material to further connect the different sections in a way that makes musical and integral sense to you. But it's super immersive as is; fantastic work.

KrinnValKhristi responds:

thx for the feedback! ^_^

"Ya like jazz?"

This is incredible; simple in its arrangement while deeply evocative and emotional in its presentation. The subtle pops, mp3-ish compression artifacts, and pitch warble make for a wonderful degraded sound (I'm not even certain if the first two were intentional, but man they contribute so much). You've approached perfection with this one.

I make musical things and enjoy listening to others. I'm open to collaborations and commissions for playing, composing, mixing, mastering, etc.
