Ahh, manufactured nostalgia: High bell tones, washy-sizzly gated reverb, that one phasey synth that reminds me of tinkering with FM synthesis, hard left and right panning — all combined with contemporary sensibilties, great samples, PHAT BASS, and tasty stereo bus compression and filtration. I think that one super fast arp resolves on F minor at the end with F Major in the supersaw. Was that a creative decision? This track is incredible, evocative in all the ways you inteneded.

I really liked reading your write up, it means a lot to me. Thank you !

Heck yeah, I super dig the vibe and mixing, so tasteful. I especially love that ostinato in the keys that starts around the middle. It sounded like alto sax towards the beginning, but were those alternating alto and tenor samples towards the end? Great work

ItsBurner responds:

Yes the saxophonist I've paid proposed three different takes with an alto and tenor sax, I mixed them both because they sounded good to me !

wwweeeeeeee

Oh man this is amazing. I don't have much to say. I look forward to hearing more of your music. Fantastic work

Nice hybrid sound with some lovely background foley; I wish those nighttime insect sounds carried longer at the end. I especially like how you pass the melody from the women to solo flute towards the beginning. I can imagine this placed in a film or video game trailer. Great work

Super expressive with minimal movement. I'm a huge fan of drones in harmony, and I must say that D-pitched vocal-sounding synth carries this track. Likewise with the subdued harmony in the organ and piano. Your voice leading is nice and sparse, crawling and resting at its leisure.

This track is so cool, quite tasteful. There are many small creative choices, progressions and moments of harmony, rhythm, panning, etc. that combine to create a mellow, cozy experience. I
super dig the subtle differences between sections, like the high C note synth in the second half. You might disagree with this thought, but your track reminds me of Max Graham's remix of Winter by DT8 Project. I know, I know, completely diferent energies, but in my mind's eye they converge towards the same outdoor-winter indoor-snug imagery. Anyway, great work

Whoa, this is so cool and evocative of visual imagery. I super dig the MIDI-esque sound, so nostalgic and emotional in its own way. You're quite cognisant of volume levels, always making sure the melody shines. This is prime video game territory. I think back to Runescape and games for which Grant Kirkhope composed. Great work.

Tangerine responds:

Hey, thank you for the kind comment! That's exactly what I was going for :)

That's a fantastic, head-bangin' hybrid sound you've created. Stutters, automation, sound design, brutal rhythms and blast beats, it has it all. And yup, eight semitones interval is a minor 6th; stack four of those, and you got yourself an open-voiced fully diminished 7th chord.

Aw yee, layered arpeggios. Great distant supersaw pad supporting everything, and wonderful delay and reverb cradling the ears. Delicious cookie; would eat again.

I make musical things and enjoy listening to others. I'm open to collaborations and commissions for playing, composing, mixing, mastering, etc.
